We welcome everyone from very new beginners to seasoned advanced dancers.

Our Curriculum
Beginners: Our curriculum is designed to provide a 8 -10 week nurturing introduction for you to enjoy learning Modern Jive. After the 8pm lesson, a supportive coaching team is there to take you as a group aside to gain more confidence in the new moves. You can then practice your new skills in the freestyle all the way through to 10:45pm.
Intermediates: We have many varied moves we can't wait to share.

WHAT IS MODERN JIVE ?
Modern Jive is one of the easiest partner dances to pick up. Two Left feet?
- The footwork is easy to learn. It is like walking, if you can walk , one foot at a time.... Left, Right, Left... you can learn to dance (Modern Jive)
- You can only walk with one foot at a time.
- You can not walk Left, Left Left.
- You can be dancing to top hits from past and present with multiple partners in just half an hour at your local club.
- Its freedom from strict rules means there are hundreds of moves to explore and add to your repertoire. In short, back in 1980, some inventive folks in London realized they could get more people dancing a jive-like style by skipping footwork altogether.
- They created simple moves taught quickly, focusing on walking to the beat without worrying about which foot to use.
This has evolved into a range of styles, from easy to intricate, now danced by hundreds of thousands worldwide. While “Modern Jive” is the general term, most people refer to it by their club’s name, like Ginger Jive, Northern Jive, Jive+, Just Jivin’, Mo’jive, or Blitz. Once called “French Jive” even ?Ceroc in the UK, the style isn’t actually danced that way in France, as I found in the 1990s. Michel Lau introduced the style in London in the early ’80s as Le Roc (later LeRoc), intentionally leaving it unbranded so anyone could use the name.
Many clubs include LeRoc in their name, and there’s even a "LeRoc
Modern Jive Federation" of independent teachers.
“Ceroc,” on the other hand, is a trademark used by major club chains around the world, especially Here in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and elsewhere, where it’s seen as a form of "Modern Jive".

Learn to dance from never danced before to be a competent dancer at the British Legion Ferndown BH22 9ET
(Two Left feet?) No problem, you can only step one foot at a time.
“Every Monday” Except: Christmas, New Year, Easter and maybe a couple of weeks during the summer.
Doors open: 7:45 - Classes: from 8pm - 8:40- Beginners & Intermediate class from 9pm - A great evening dancing. Freestyle around 9:30/9:40 – until we close. 10:45pm
Entry £8 - Pay on door cash or card.
Open to all male, female single or couples.
No membership fee but for legal & insurance you will need to complete a registration form.
Loyalty Cards – Don’t forget: Collect 9 stamps get in Free on your 10th night. 
Easy to access, Car park just outside the venue, ample parking spaces and the school road/carpark.
The RBL now has a Number Plate Recognition Camera System, you MUST register your vehicle when you arrive.
We can not accept liability if you fail to register - then a fine maybe issued..! By the parking company.
If there is a problem with registering, please notify the
British Legion Staff.
The Village hall next to the RBL, their carpark is private and also has a camera NPR system.
Once they close the barrier you could be stuck there until it opens the next day.
We have for you.... A great evening dancing until we close .
Fun, and smiles for all in a fabulous community atmosphere with a very warm and friendly welcome.
The RBL has a licensed bar.
(DO NOT bring your own Alcohol - only water & juice permitted, thank you.)
Free ice cold water avaliable.
Have a drink, have a Jive, Just remember some of you have to drive home.

We just love to dance..... Most types of music, if it is danceable we do our best to play it.
We will not and try not to play bad language as it's not acceptable for many and to be honest not the kind of thing we wish to broadcast.
